Sources: Winner named in Celtic and Al-Faisaly race to sign Hibs winger Boyle after deal agreed

Martin Boyle has agreed to join Al-Faisaly after Hibernian accepted a third bid for him in a blow to Celtic, Football Insider understands.

The Australia international has been the subject of two previous offers from the Saudi Arabian club Al-Faisaly.

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that a third bid of more than £2million has been accepted by Hibs and Boyle has been given the green light to complete a move today.

He has agreed the terms of a lucrative 18-month contract with Al-Faisaly.

That is a blow to Celtic, who had been keen for Ange Postecoglou to link up with his countryman.

It is believed the Scottish giants made contact with Boyle’s representatives and offered a contract.

The Australia international has been a standout performer for Hibs in recent seasons.

He has already scored 14 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions this term.

Boyle’s performances at Easter Road led to Celtic targeting a move this month.

However, Hibs have accepted a seven-figure bid from Saudi outfit Al-Faisaly.

The winger is set to complete the move over the coming days.

Boyle has played a total of 265 times for Hibs since joining on an initial loan deal from Dundee in January 2015.

He made the move permanent that summer when his Dundee contract came to an end.

His form in Edinburgh has also earned him international recognition, with 11 caps for Australia under his belt.

Boyle is the second target Celtic have missed out on this month after Riley McGree joined Middlesbrough.

However, Postecoglou has still managed to strengthen his squad with five new additions.

Matt O’Riley is the latest addition at Parkhead after he completed a move from MK Dons on Thursday (20 January).
