Sources: Wycombe Wanderers star Tjay De Barr agrees deal

Wycombe Wanderers forward Tjay De Barr has agreed a new deal at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old star has tied up negotiations with the club and has put pen to paper on a new deal with the League One outfit.

De Barr was due to be out of contract at the end of the season, but Wycombe have moved quickly to secure a new deal for the exciting centre-forward.

Wycombe have narrowly missed out on the play-off places in League One this season but will hope to push again for promotion in the 2023/24 campaign with De Barr still among the squad.

The Gibraltar international has enjoyed a breakthrough year at the Adams Park Stadium, making 20 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and providing five assists.

De Barr made only three appearances in 2022, but has become a much more prominent part of the squad since Matt Bloomfield returned to the club as manager in February 2023.

Under Bloomfield, De Barr has seen his playing time significantly increase, with the striker appearing in 12 of Wycombe’s last 14 league matches.

Bloomfield is now pushing to tie De Barr down to a new deal to reward him for his success and progress this season.

De Barr has also been part of the Gibraltar squad for the past five years after receiving his first national call-up in 2018. He has made 30 caps for the nation and scored three goals.
