He, like Temenuzkhov, signed from Barcelona in the summer and that is the sort of pedigree that will do Leeds no harm, especially if things become dire and they become desperate for reinforcements at centre-back.
The Spanish teenager is already a physical presence and also possesses the ability to play in the defensive midfield role.
Rey’s knowledge and versatility could see him fast-tracked by Thomas Christiansen, who has close ties to the Barcelona youth set-up himself.
