Sven Botman and Anthony Gordon respond to Anthony Elanga’s message amid Newcastle whispers
Anthony Elanga’s recent social media message may have caught the eye of Newcastle fans, as several of their players responded to his post.
Eddie Howe is in the market for a right-sided forward ahead of the new season, with the club looking to bring in competition for Jacob Murphy.
After missing out on Bryan Mbeumo — who now looks set to choose between Tottenham and Manchester United — the side have quickly shifted their focus to alternative options.
Newcastle supporters are urging the club to sign Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, after reports emerged that the winger is firmly on the club’s radar once again.
The Magpies had a £35million bid rejected for Elanga last summer, but Football Insider have revealed that Forest could now sell Elanga for £50m.
Amid ongoing speculation over his future, Elanga shared a new update on social media, and one that was quickly picked up on by several Newcastle players.

Newcastle stars respond to Anthony Elanga amid transfer hope
Forest winger Elanga posted a series of holiday pictures on Instagram, including one featuring Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and the post quickly caught the attention of several Newcastle United players.
Sven Botman responded with the comment “Myko”, while former teammate and now at Newcastle, William Osula added: “Henjoyment my boy”. The post also drew likes from Anthony Gordon, Elliot Anderson, and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
There’s already a visible connection between Elanga and several players at St James’ Park, which could make for a seamless transition if a deal is agreed between the clubs.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Elanga “wants” the move to Newcastle, and after a failed approach last summer, the Magpies could be back in for the Sweden international.
Newcastle could miss out on Joao Pedro amid Chelsea interest

While the Carabao Cup winners continue to explore attacking reinforcements, they may be set to miss out on one of their key targets.
Reports suggest Joao Pedro would prefer to wait for a move to Chelsea, despite Newcastle’s strong interest in the Brazilian forward.
Newcastle have been heavily linked with the Pedro as they aim to build on their League Cup success and Champions League qualification. However, if a deal for the Brazilian falls through, it could further open the door for a move for Elanga, especially with other targets proving difficult to land.
