Thomas Frank ‘doesn’t fancy’ Tottenham star who was first choice under Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has been unimpressed by striker Dominic Solanke during his tenure at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The word coming from the Spurs training HQ is that Frank “doesn’t fancy” the £60m centre-forward.
Last season, Solanke was first choice under Ange Postecoglou, making 45 appearances across all competitions and scoring 16 goals.
The 28-year-old has struggled badly with injuries this term, playing just 49 minutes of football in total, but Frank has decided he wants a new striker nonetheless.

Dominic Solanke struggling at Tottenham
Solanke recently underwent surgery on an ankle injury and is expected to be out for a prolonged period of time.
The England international hasn’t featured since Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over Man City on 23 August.
Since completing a move from Bournemouth to North London in the summer of 2024, Solanke has been plagued by injury issues, missing large periods due to ankle and knee issues.
Tottenham and Frank may look to replace the former Chelsea and Liverpool striker during the January transfer window.
Tottenham hit stumbling block over striker deal
Despite their desire to address the position, Tottenham will struggle to sign a striker in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Frank has a lack of options up front as it stands due to injury and poor form, which is badly hindering his side.
Sources say that in an ideal world, Tottenham would bring in a striker when the window reopens, but it is notoriously difficult to do business in January.
Therefore, the more likely scenario is that Frank will have to utilise his current squad, rather than relying on additions.
