Former Hearts midfielder Holt is they type of player every club wants to have in their midfield – constant energy, decent eye for goal and regularly covers every blade of grass – but in Florida everything just seemed to pass him by.
Tried to get involved in games and while he probably wasn’t helped by who he was paired with in the centre of the pitch, Holt just didn’t seem suited to the deeper role he was asked to play.
Will likely still have an important role to play over the second-half of the season but won’t be happy with his performances in Florida.
