Murty favourite among three Rangers players who must be axed v Ayr United

Sean Goss

Rangers
The midfielder had played no competitive football this seaon before arriving at Ibrox on loan from QPR and after picking up a knock against Thistle on Tuesday should be given the night off against the League One Ayr.
With Greg Docherty in reserve, Murty should instead start the former Hamilton midfielder and let Goss get fully over his facial injury, despite having already established himself as a favourite of his new boss.
Although Rangers really need to get into a rhythym after bringing in a host of new faces in January, the Gers should be more than capable of dealing with Ian McCall’s side with a handful of changes.
The German-born midfielder is going to have a big part to play for the Gers so Murty should do everything to keep him as fresh as he can.
