24-yr-old in form of his career: Three Rangers stars at risk of being axed after Murty overhaul
Josh Windass
Windass has found arguably the best form of his Rangers career under Murty but – like Candeias – the arrivals of Murphy and Cummings put his place in the starting XI under serious threat.
After only scoring once in the opening three months of the season, Windass has hit the net a further five times since Murty replaced Pedro Caixinha in the Ibrox hotseat.
The 24-year-old has been used both as a winger and more centrally and it is probably a safe bet to say he won’t be replacing Alfredo Morelos as the Gers’ main striker.
The former Accrington star has come on leaps and bounds over the last few months but is still frustratingly inconsistent at times.
Added competition could spur him on to improved performances but Windass faces a massive fight to stay in the starting XI.
In other Rangers news, this international is expected to undergo a medical with the Gers on Tuesday.
