Mexican midfielder Pena has come in for a lot of criticism since his Ibrox move – some fair, some bordering on ridiculous – but it’s clear that he’s not been producing what is expected of him since joining from Chivas Guadalajara.
Despite grabbing two goals, Pena has only started three times since July and has yet to complete a full 90 minutes for the Gers.
Ryan Jack’s suspension may mean a reprieve for Pena in the short-term but the 27-year-old may find himself returned to the bench before too long.
