Mainstay should be moved on: Three things learned about Celtic in loss v Bayern Munich

Celtic should have won that game

It’s clear that Bayern under-estimated Celtic before Tuesday’s clash and despite taking the three points back to Germany, the Scottish champions could have snatched the win.

Rodgers’ side were masters of their own downfall with a number of silly mistakes and one or two key players completely under-performing.

Boyata’s botched reading of the ball in the build up to Bayern’s opener really should have been dealt with by a player of his experience.

Some slack passing and poor marking let the Germans find space in behind the Hoops’ defence on a few occassions.

Worst of all, some woeful finishing really punished the Scottish champions in a game they will be kicking themselves not to have won and kept some hope of making the last-sixteen.
