Senior player must be binned in summer: Three things learned about Rangers in draw v Motherwell
Rangers need defenders urgently
The loss of David Bates has left the Gers having to play Bruno Alves and Russell Martin together in central defence – and it has only served to make it clear that the Light Blues need defenders in the summer.
Bates, Alves, Martin and Fabio Cardoso could all be on the way out in the summer and director of football Mark Allen needs to prioritise bringing in new central defenders at the end of the season.
Someone who isn’t afraid to bark instructions and drag the Gers up by the scruff of their neck would be an ideal addition to the Light Blues squad.
Ross McCrorie will likely find himself in defence long-term so finding someone to partner the 20-year-old would be the perfect starting point for Allen and his recruitment team.
