One man surprise absentee: Three things you might have missed from Rangers v Ayr

Cummings dominates possession

Rangers

Rangers have a habit of being pretty wasteful in possession at times – particularly in the final third – but Jason Cummings’ ability to keep hold of the ball despite any pressure on him is pretty remarkable.
While some of his pass choices could be better, Cummings rarely gives the ball straight to the opposition or gets the weight of his pass wrong and fires it out of play.
Cummings has looked frustrated at times during his Ibrox stint but continues to work fantastically hard for Graeme Murty’s side.
Then there is that goal.
There is little that can be said about the sheer quality of the finish as he hooked a volley beyond Ayr’s Jack Ruddy from an outrageous angle.
