Tino Livramento to leave Newcastle – ‘He’s set on going to Man City’
Newcastle are expected to lose Tino Livramento to Premier League rivals Man City in the summer transfer window.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes the 23-year-old will be moving to Pep Guardiola’s side in the near future.
Man City have been backed to sign Livramento, despite Newcastle wanting to tie down the defender to a new long-term contract.
Livramento is currently set for two months on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury against Bournemouth in the FA Cup.
Tino Livramento ‘expected to go to Man City’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – does not expect Livramento to depart St James’ Park in January.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes Newcastle will be desperate to keep Livramento at the club.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Look, I know Newcastle would want to keep him, but I know that the player is definitely set on going to City, and I do expect that to happen, probably in the summer.
“I can’t remember his contract situation, but I would expect him to go to City in the summer. I don’t think he’ll go in January. I think that will be the case, but I do expect him to go, and I think that will be a loss for Newcastle.
“Newcastle will be looking to look in the marketplace because he’s been a bit of a star player for them. You know, things are starting to turn around slightly up there on Tyneside, but I do expect him to be one that Eddie Howe’s going to have to be looking for a replacement.”

Newcastle open to offers on star
Eddie Howe could be faced with another key departure from the club, with Anthony Gordon potentially free to leave Tyneside.
Newcastle will listen to offers on Gordon amid the 24-year-old’s underwhelming form for the club this season.
Gordon has contributed just two goals and one assist in the Premier League this season, and the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal are admirers of the winger.
