Tottenham backed to complete Leandro Trossard signing after source’s update – ‘he walks through the door,’ says pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed Leandro Trossard has had his head turned by Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said footballers hold all the power when it comes to transfers.
On 14 January, sources told this site that Spurs are ready to submit a new big-money offer for the 28-year-old after their initial bid was rejected.
The forward was axed from the Brighton squad for Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Liverpool and has already gone public with his desire to quit this month.
The Lilywhites are believed to be looking to exploit Trossard’s situation in an attempt to secure a replacement for Lucas Moura who seems set to leave the club.
The Belgium international’s Brighton contract runs until 2024 after the club triggered a 12-month extension earlier this month.
“There will be talks behind people’s backs and then you might find he will get his head turned and his agent will ask to put in a transfer request.
“That is the way it works and it is not right. But if he wants to go to Tottenham, and Tottenham want him, he will know that before he puts in a transfer request.

“Brighton are doing very well and for Tottenham a lot depends on [Antonio] Conte. Footballers have all the say now, it is down to them if they want to go or not and their agents are more powerful than anything.
“Tottenham is a top club and he will notice a difference. Tottenham is a money making machine, a lot of the big clubs are. Trossard will notice a difference as soon as he walks through the door, if he goes there.“
In other news, Tottenham told to U-turn on David Raya and sign 22-year-old instead – ‘he was my boot boy’, says expert.
