Talks open: 21-year-old in negotiations with Tottenham over lucrative deal – report

Tottenham star Dele Alli is demanding that the club triple his current earnings after talks over a new contract opened, according to a report.

The Sun claim on their website that the 21-year-old midfielder is currently earning £50,000-a-year, but wants to become the club’s highest earner on wages in the region of £160,000-a-week.

Both star striker Harry Kane and club captain Hugo Lloris are said to be currently earning in the region of £100,000-a-week but Alli wants to usurp them both, despite having four years left on his existing contract which he signed a year ago.

The young midfielder, who has been a star for the club since arriving from MK Dons, has been in poor form this season, as he has found himself caught up in controversy.

He was banned by FIFA for one game after making a gesture deemed “inappropriate and unsporting” while on England duty, while he was widely criticised for his attempts to convince the referee into awarding a penalty with a dive against Huddersfield.

So far this campaign he has managed to score three goals in eight appearances across all competitions.

He finished as the highest scoring midfielder in the Premier League last season with 18 goals, while he has made 104 appearances and netted 35 times for Spurs in his career.

He also has earned himself 22 England caps, with two goals for the Three Lions.
