Sources: Richarlison tells friends he wants to join Tottenham as new talks held

Richarlison is keen to quit Everton for Tottenham if the two clubs can agree a fee, Football Insider understands.

This site revealed on 19 April that the Merseysiders will listen to offers for the Brazilian as well as Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer as they plot a complete squad overhaul.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that talks have taken place this week between Tottenham and Everton over a potential deal.

The Brazilian forward, 24, has told friends he is keen to sign for the London giants and play in the Champions League next season.

Richarlison has long been eyeing the exit door this summer – with Football Insider revealing on 17 April that he has instructed his agents to find him a move to a Champions League club.

Everton are holding out for a fee of around £50million for their prize asset.

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in signing Richarlison this summer but he is not their current top target.

Richarlison’s future is up in the air as he has two years to run on his Goodison Park contract and talks over an extension have failed to get off the ground.

Tottenham want to recruit a dynamic attacking player capable of playing out wide as well as providing cover down the middle for Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, their two star players.

Richarlison has a suspect temperament and a poor disciplinary record, but he is a proven Premier League matchwinner and has been hailed “phenomenal” by teammate Seamus Coleman.

His 33 Everton matches in 2021-22 yielded 11 goals and five assists, and he now has 53 goals from 152 games for the club.
