Tottenham expert can’t believe ‘insane’ Tanguy Ndombele transfer update

Tottenham should give Tanguy Ndombele to Napoli for free if it means getting his wages off the books.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Il Mattino reported on 13 December that Ndombele, 25, may have done enough to convince Napoli to buy him from Tottenham next summer.

Sources told Football Insider on 14 November that there is a £30million buy option in Napoli’s loan deal which would be triggered if the Italian giants qualify for the Champions League.

The midfielder has only started six league games since moving on a season-long loan to Naples but he has made 18 total appearances in all competitions.

Wenham claims Spurs would be “insane” to demand a fee for their record signing.

“They can have him for free,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They just need to take that £200,000-a-week wage off our books and everyone is a winner. Everyone is happy, they can honestly take him for free.

“I don’t know why people are saying this. Tottenham would be insane to demand a fee for him. Just get rid of him.

“The alternative of this Napoli loan not working out would be us essentially paying him off to get rid of him. If we got any sort of fee for him it would be a Christmas miracle.

“For me, £200,000-a-week spread over the next three years, it’s £30million in wages, give or take.

We just need to get rid of him.”
