Tottenham expert drops ‘big’ claim after source’s Henderson transfer reveal

Alan Hutton has suggested Dean Henderson would be an ideal replacement for Hugo Lloris at Tottenham.

But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back insisted the club need find the “right” new manager before they start bringing players in.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Man United until the end of the season.

The keeper’s current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025 but has accepted his time at Old Trafford is over and is set to leave the club this summer.

Henderson has previously lashed out at the “criminal” treatment he has received at United.

Last week (26 March), Football Insider revealed that Forest are keen to sign the shot stopper permanently and Tottenham are also keen to sign him.

The Lilywhites are searching for a long-term replacement to Hugo Lloris, 36, who could depart the club this summer.

When asked if Henderson would be a strong alternative to Lloris, Hutton told Football Insider:I think if you look at him, he is young, he has got experience, has been at a big club and knows how to play under pressure.

I think he ticks a lot of boxes. You are looking to bring somebody in who is going to be there for a number of years, someone that you can build round. I think it would be a good option.

He has showed that he can handle the pressure in big games as well. I think that is a good thing.

The problem with Tottenham moving forward is, who is making these decisions? The bigger problem is the managerial situation, they first need to get that right before they bring players in.
