Tottenham expert drops ‘massive’ Ange Postecoglou claim after Sky’s Harry Kane update
Ange Postecoglou has taken on a “massive” rebuilding job at Tottenham as new doubts emerge over Harry Kane’s future.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back claimed the recruitment in recent years has been a “big problem” for the club and presents a “tough job” for Postecoglou.
One big question mark at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the future of star striker Harry Kane.
The 29-year-old has been Man United’s top target in recent months as they search for a marquee forward signing.
But, Football Insider revealed (26 June), that Erik ten Hag’s side are pessimistic about the prospect of landing the England international this summer as they look to wrap up their business early.
Bayern Munich have also been pushing to sign the striker and according to Sky Sports (28 June) have already had a verbal offer of £60million plus add-ons rejected.
Hutton insisted Postecoglou has his work cut out for him to sort out Spurs’ transfer business.
“If you actually sit back and think about it, Ange has taken an amazing job but it is a massive job,” he told Football Insider.
“The biggest problem is Harry Kane. Can he keep him? The flip side to that is that you might get £100m in to spend but it is not easy.

“Tottenham have tried to do that before when they got rid of [Gareth] Bale. They bought five players with the money they got for him and none of them really worked out.
“It has been a real problem and a real issue on the recruitment side. Yes a huge opportunity but a tough job moving forward.“
In other news, Man City star Laporte has rejected Tottenham move.
