Tottenham expert ‘really excited’ verdict as source reveals King offer

The decision to offer Maeson King a Tottenham scholarship has been hailed as “really exciting”.

That’s the opinion of Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider (13 December) the club have moved to secure King to a scholarship and want a deal done in the coming weeks.

The Under-16s starlet has bolstered his reputation with a series of impressive displays at his age-group level for the club this season.

Football Insider revealed the club have also offered the two-year deals to 15-year-old attacker Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, 15-year-old centre-back duo Archie Chaplin and Pele Arganese-McDermott as well as 15-year-old goalkeeper Elliot Krasniqi and goalscoring midfielder Han Willhoft-King.

Wenham has hailed Tottenham’s latest scholarship offer as “really exciting”.

“This will be a continuous process over the next few weeks,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“We have seen some deals offered already. Maeson would be another one tied down.

“I understand he features heavily for our Under 16s and they have been doing very well this season.

“He’s one who will be looking to kick on when his contract starts next June.

“It’s really exciting that Tottenham are tieing down all of this young talent.

“Maeson is a good young player who I hope sticks around.”
