Tottenham expert slams ‘ridiculous’ Man United update amid Steven Bergwijn news
Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn will sign for Ajax this summer despite “utterly ridiculous” Man United links.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As per De Telegraaf’s Mike Verweij (3 June) Ajax have made an official offer to sign Bergwijn, 24.

It was also reported that agreeing the details of a contract with the Spurs winger is “a formality”.
The Holland international made 32 total appearances for Tottenham during the 2021 season but scored just four goals.
Wenham is not surprised to see Ajax make an offer and insists he will sign for the club this summer.
“I have always said he would go to Ajax,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I have never heard of anyone else being interested in him despite reports to the contrary.
“There was one utterly ridiculous rumour about him signing for Man United just because Ten Hag is there.
“To me, it seems like a club signing at Ajax, rather than a manager signing.
“He plays for Holland, he’s very marketable and he will run away with the Eredivisie. He is far too good for that level.”

Bergwijn’s last Premier League start for Tottenham came on 23 January in a 2-0 loss to Chelsea.
He was regularly used off the bench in the second half in the 2021-22 season but rarely appeared for more than 15 minutes.
