Tottenham expert: Yves Bissouma facing one-game ban after what he spotted

Yves Bissouma may shortly find himself suspended after receiving a yellow card just two minutes into his Tottenham debut.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Bissouma made his competitive Tottenham debut during his new side’s opening day Premier League win over Southampton (6 August).

The 25-year-old came on for the final four minutes of the game but marked his debut with a booking.

Wenham was left frustrated and fears Bissouma could shortly find himself suspended.

“Just on Bissouma, I was frustrated that he came on for four minutes and got a yellow card,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Because at the beginning of the Premier League season, those yellow cards tot up really quickly then you get a one-game ban.

“You keep those yellow cards until December as well so to come on and instantly get a yellow card wasn’t great.

“There will be times when we need him to get yellow cards to stop things happening and that wasn’t one of them.

“We were 4-1 up against Southampton and coming on in the 86th minute.”

Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this summer in a deal that Sky Sports claim could be worth £35million.

Tottenham are next in Premier League action against London rivals Chelsea on Sunday (14 August).
