Harry Winks delivered further evidence of his immense potential in Tottenham’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Fulham – and Spurs fans were blown away by his display.
The midfielder, 21, has been a regular member of the London giants’ matchday squad this season and his game time has been gradually increased by Mauricio Pochettino.
Winks played the 78 minutes of Sunday’s FA Cup fifth-round triumph at Craven Cottage, which was sealed by a Harry Kane hat-trick.
Tottenham picked a virtual full-strength team and Winks was a key figure in what was a convincing victory in a tricky tie.
Fans took to social media to hail the Spurs academy product, as many predicted big things for the youngster.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
It was the 27th appearance of the season for central midfielder Winks, although it was only his 10th start.
The England Under-21 international is highly rated by Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino and now appears to be among the four senior players vying for a place in the midfield engine room, along with Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier.
Spurs announced earlier this week that Winks had signed his second new contract of the season, to underline the progress he has made.
