Tottenham have confirmed that Harry Kane has suffered ligament damage to his ankle – and fans on Twitter are hoping he will be back for the FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea.

The club confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday evening that the 23-year-old has sustained damage to his right ankle and it is similar to the one he suffered in September.

It is also said that the injury is not thought to be as severe as the previous injury with the Premier League’s top goalscorer now set to undergo rehabilitation.

Kane has been a key figure for Mauricio Pochettino’s Champions League chasing team this season, scoring 19 goals in the league, joint with Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.

Furthermore, he played a big part in helping them reach the semi-final’s of the FA Cup, prior to his injury against Millwall on Sunday.

Spurs are set to play their London rivals Chelsea at Wembley on April 22 with Manchester City and Arsenal the other teams contesting for a place in the final.

The White Hart Lane faithful wished their player a speedy recovery as they were hoping he can make a quick return.

Some believe that the international break has come at the right time for the club because it will give Kane time to recover.

Furthermore, other fans joked that they hoped the FA would extend the break so their player can be fully fit for their crucial run in.

Pochettinio is set to welcome his former club Southampton to north London on Sunday afternoon for a Premier League encounter.
