Tottenham high flyer makes emphatic decision on his future after transfer speculation

Tottenham striker Harry Kane insists he will not be tempted by money if he were to leave White Hart Lane.

The 23-year-old has proven himself to be one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers, capping off a meteoric rise through the ranks at the north London club.

However, his form has also made him one of Europe’s hottest properties, warranting interest from several of the continent’s elite clubs.

Kane has been a long-term target for Premier League rivals Manchester United, while 11-time European champions Real Madrid are also believed to be keen.

Tottenham have little intention of selling their star goalscorer, but clubs will be hoping to lure him away with a big-money offer.

They may not have much luck, however, as Kane insists he is happy at Tottenham, and will not be influenced by money.

In an interview with TalkSport, he said: “Everything is progressing as I want it to be and as the club want it to be so, as long as that continues, I don’t see why I can’t stay there for the rest of my career.

“Some people are motivated by money – I’m not one of them. I am motivated by trying to win trophies.

“I am happy at Tottenham. I go into work every day with a smile on my face and that is important. Money is a bonus of the job, but it doesn’t always make you happy.”

A lucrative move to the Chinese Super League has also been reported in the media, where he would earn a salary in excess of £500,000-per-week.

Kane made his Premier League debut for Tottenham in August 2012, and has since scored 80 goals for the club from 149 appearances in all competitions.

The England international currently has 16 goals to his name this season, and is spearheading the Tottenham charge for the Premier League title.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, but after each of their title rivals slipped up at the weekend, remain the most likely side to challenge for domestic glory.
