Tottenham injury update: 26-year-old sidelined until end of month
By Dominic Toner
Tottenham have revealed that defender Danny Rose is expected to return to training at the end of April.
Spurs have been without the 26-year-old left-back since he sustained knee ligament damage against Sunderland in January.
The north London club confirmed on their official Twitter account that Rose is continuing with his rehab and that he should be back in first team training by the end of this month.
Spurs have managed to continue their strong league form without Rose and are challenging leaders Chelsea for the Premier League title.
They are currently seven points adrift and will be looking to close the gap in the final eight matches.
Rose may be hoping he can make a late impact in the season when he returns from injury, but his teammate Ben Davies has stepped in well during his absence.
The defender is likely to miss some crucial games, including the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and the north London derby against Arsenal on 30 April in the league.
Rose is regarded as the first-choice for Spurs and England, but injuries have meant he has made just 22 appearances for his club this season.
Meanwhile, that has given Welshman Davies the chance to impress and he has managed to slot in well into the left wing-back position.
In other Tottenham news, Robbie Savage has delivered his verdict on the club’s chances of catching Chelsea.
