Tottenham insider blown away by one ‘phenomenal’ thing Ndombele did on Sunday

Tanguy Ndombele must find some consistency after turning in an “excellent” performance as Tottenham beat Newcastle on Sunday.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Ndombele, 23, scored Tottenham’s equaliser in the 3-2 win and earned plenty of praise for his performance.

The midfielder caused plenty of problems for the Newcastle defence and played the full game as Spurs went fifth in the table.

Wenham insists it is “phenomenal” that Ndombele managed to play well over 90 minutes and wants the player to maintain this level of form.

“For him to start the game ahead of the likes of Alli and Lo Celso was a boost for him,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He was out there for something like 101 minutes because of the added time, that was phenomenal.

“I’ve complained about him before that Ndombele has looked unfit and has had to be replaced around the 60-minute mark.

“His fitness levels are clearly improving and he turned in an excellent performance.

“He covered more grass than usual and he was able to use those quick feet he has for the full game which was great to see. He was unplayable.

“Normally, he can’t perform for the full game but he was very impressive yesterday.

“He got his goal, an important goal that let us back into the game.

“Now, I want to see consistency. That has to be the level, it can’t be a one-off.

“Ndombele needs to produce those performances on a regular basis.”
