Insider: EFL club tipped to sign Markanday from Tottenham in January
Dilan Markanday is ready for a loan move to a League One side in January after making his senior Tottenham debut.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Markanday, 20, made his senior Tottenham debut during last Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.
The attacker is in sensational form for Spurs’ Under 23 side, bagging eight goals in eight Premier League 2 games this season.
Wenham claims Markanday is now ready for his first loan move and predicted he will leave after January’s FA Cup third-round game.
“The first thing is to get a new contract signed and announced,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I would like to see him given a new three or four-year deal. At that point, I think he is ready for a loan move.
“I would like him to go out in January. We have played the supposed “easier” European ties.
“By then we will hopefully also be into the latter stages of the Carabao Cup so first-team chances will be limited.
“Maybe after the FA Cup third round would be the opportune time to let him leave.
“That’s one game he could play in to get even more experience.
“I would suggest he is ready for a move to League One. He needs to find a club where he is guaranteed to get minutes.

“We have J’Neil Bennett on loan at Crewe and he’s starting every game.
“I would love Tottenham to find something similar for Markanday.“
In other news, Tottenham are plotting a January raid for a colossus Nuno Espirito Santo tried to sign at Wolves.
