Tottenham make contact over Dominic Solanke deal – sources

Tottenham have a strong interest in Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Liverpool could be huge beneficiaries of any deal, sources have told Football Insider.

Ange Postecoglou wants to sign a striker to replace Harry Kane this summer, and Solanke is on the Spurs shortlist.

The 26-year-old is also said to be keen on moving to Tottenham and has a £65million release clause.

Spurs will be helping their rivals if they choose to activate that, as Liverpool will receive £13million if Solanke is sold.

Bournemouth are braced for offers before the window shuts for Solanke, but Spurs have yet to make an official bid after making contact with their Premier League rivals.

The striker is under contract with the Cherries until 2027.

Tottenham could solve their number nine issue with Dominic Solanke

Spurs failed to replace Kane last season following his move to Bayern Munich, which caused problems for Postecoglou.

Heung-min Son played out of position for a large portion of the season, but Postecoglou now wants an out-and-out striker.

Solanke scored 21 goals and created four assists last season, his best-ever Premier League return.

With 29 goals in the top flight across his career and 44 in the Championship, Solanke is a proven commodity for top teams to consider.

Tottenham

There had been talk that Tottenham were interested in signing Federico Chiesa, but that isn’t the case.

Football Insider revealed that Spurs have pulled the plug on any potential move for the Juventus forward, as he is not on their transfer list.
