Expert: Tottenham may have just saved ‘£70m’ after two Fabio Paratici allies sign
Tottenham could theoretically save “£70million” per season if Gretar Steinsson and Andy Scoulding are successful in their new youth development roles.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
As relayed by Training Ground Guru last Tuesday (14 June), Steinsson has been named Spurs’ new performance director with Scoulding his assistant.

It is understood that both men will report directly to managing director Fabio Paratici as they are tasked with developing the club’s infrastructure at senior and youth levels.
Dinnery explained that the Londoners will avoid forking out big transfer fees in the future if the Steinsson-Scoulding team can supercharge their academy production line.
“The role of a performance director is to oversee that department and implement Conte’s philosophies,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“First and foremost, you have to understand what the manager wants. You need to be able to converse and communicate with other departments to ensure that those philosophies are understood and instilled at every single level.
“For that reason, you can’t overstate the importance of the role that he will have. With the youth department, we have seen the likes of Sessegnon, Tanganga, and Skipp go from being in and around that setup to the first team.
“That’s what you want. Ultimately, you don’t want to go and spend £60m or £70m every season. If you can promote from within, that’s going to be a massive advantage.”

Spurs gave 6,227 minutes to academy players in 2021-22.
However, superstar striker Harry Kane accounted for over half of that figure.
In other news, expert certain Steven Bergwijn is about to leave Tottenham after “unexpected” development.
