Tottenham news: Expert issues Vinnie Jones claim as Heung-Min Son footage analysed

There is another side to Tottenham star Heung-Min Son even though everyone thinks he is a “likeable, happy character”.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

In footage relayed by Sky Sports from Thursday’s (12 March) game, Rob Holding and Son were involved in a number of incidents in the opening 32 minutes of the game, which culminated in the Arsenal man being sent off.

However, Son appeared to swing an elbow at the defender when the duo were grappling on the floor.

Wenham compared Son to Vinnie Jones, who holds the reputation of being one of the most aggressive footballers to play in the English top flight.

“People see Son as this very likeable, happy character,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He actually has one less red card than Vinnie Jones got in his entire career. Son has three Premier League red cards, which is a lot for a striker.

“There was the one against Everton with Andre Gomes, one against Chelsea where VAR decided he had kicked out.

“Then one aginst Bournemouth after Jefferson Lerma basically assaulted him, I think Son kicked out at him

“The Arsenal fans were enraged after Son didn’t get any punishment. The fact is they didn’t turn up and they were looking for things to blame.”

Son scored Tottenham’s third in the 3-0 win.

He has netted 21 times in 33 appearances in the Premier League this season.
