Tottenham news: Insider impressed by ‘brilliant’ thing he spotted Antonio Conte doing on touchline
Antonio Conte deserves praise for celebrating Harry Kane’s winner against Man City with Tottenham outcast Joe Rodon.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Conte ran over to celebrate with Rodon after Tottenham snatched a late victory against Machester City on Saturday (19 February).
This comes after a Spurs source told Football Insider on 4 December that Rodon had his heart set on leaving the north Londoners, either on loan or permanently, during January in pursuit of game time.
However, he remains at Tottenham after failing to find a move away during the winter window.
Wenham was delighted to see Rodon included in the celebrations by Conte and hailed his man-management.
“I was pleased to see in the celebrations that Conte picked out Joe Rodon,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It seemed quite random at the time because Rodon has barely had a look in this season.
“He gave him a big hug and I think it’s because Conte knows Rodon isn’t first choice but he still wants him to feel part of what he’s building.
“It makes him feel important and part of the project. That is what we are going to need if we are to be successful.
“Even the players who aren’t playing need to be on board with everything Conte wants to do because they do make a difference.

“They are in there training every day and keeping those high standards.
“I just thought it was brilliant from Conte, excellent man-management.”
In other news, a club are plotting a raid to sign a Tottenham star Jose Mourinho called a ‘genius’ and £25million will seal the deal.
