Tottenham news: Pundit thrilled by unexpected Son Heung-min twist
Frank McAvennie has insisted Son Heung-min has “answered his critics” at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker is delighted Son will be going to the World Cup with South Korea.
On Saturday (12 November), the South Korea squad for the competition was announced and included the 30-year-old who has not played since the beginning of the month.

The forward suffered a fracture around his left eye during Spurs’ 2-1 win over Marseille on 1 November.
Son has not featured in a game for the Lilywhites since the injury.
However, the South Korea international took to Instagram, as relayed by the BBC (9 November), to reassure fans that he will be fit to feature in the tournament.
McAvennie insisted Son deserves the opportunity to play on football’s biggest stage.
“I am a great believer in quality players deserve a chance,” he told Football Insider.
“England did it with Beckham and Rooney. Son is a wonderful player so if he has got any chance of playing, that is what you have got to look for.

“He might miss the first game or two. I think quality players like that deserve to be on the top stage. If there is a 50-50 chance you take him.
“He has been up and down this season and he has answered his critics and he deserves a chance to play on the world stage. He is up there with the best.“
