Tottenham news: Sergio Reguilon could be axed for ‘big name’ signing – Hutton
Sergio Reguilon could be axed for a “big name” arrival at Tottenham this summer, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the “lightweight” 25-year-old has “massive question marks” hanging over his head defensively.
This site revealed on Tuesday (22 March) that manager Antonio Conte has given the green light to Tottenham listening to offers for Reguilon this summer.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that the Italian is not totally convinced by the Spaniard and believes the team need a better option at left wing-back next term.
The former Real Madrid man has scored twice and claimed nine assists in 62 games for Tottenham since joining in 2020.
Hutton claimed Ryan Sessegnon could be the long-term answer at left wing-back.
“I just think he’s a little bit lightweight when it comes to his defensive duties,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“He came with a huge reputation from Real Madrid, and we see flashes of that.
“Is his delivery quite as good as it could be? He could improve, there’s no doubt – and there are obviously massive question marks defensively.
“With the way Conte wants to play and the width he needs those wing-backs to supply, that’s the strength of his system. At clubs like Chelsea, the wing-backs were their biggest strength.
“He’s identified it as a position he needs to strengthen in. I think Sessegnon in the future could take over that role. But in the short term he could be looking for a big name.”

Reguilon endured a spell out of the side in February.
But the Spaniard has reprised his role in the starting eleven in each of Tottenham’s last three league games.
