Tottenham player ratings v Burnley: 27-year-old is 3/10
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Football Insider rates the Tottenham players during their 2-0 win against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
Hugo Lloris 6 – Had little to do between the sticks, but looked comfortable when called upon.
Kieran Trippier 5 – The often hailed right-back struggled against his former club and didn’t show any signs of his expert delivery.
Eric Dier 8 – Opened the scoring and didn’t put a foot wrong in the back five, or in the midfield when called upon.
Toby Alderweireld 6 – Always looked comfortable in possession and when needed to defend he did his job expertly.
Jan Vertonghen 6 – Much like Alderweireld he looked comfortable in a strong defensive three and ensured Burnley didn’t get a sight at goal.
Ben Davies 5 – Failed to contribute anything up the pitch for Tottenham while also showing a number of poor touches.
Victor Wanyama 6 – Dominant in the midfield before struggling with an injury which brought his afternoon to an early end.
Harry Winks 7 – Performed well in the centre of the park, but his match was also ended early after an injury suffered during a tackle with Stephen Ward.
Christian Eriksen 7 – Looked Tottenham’s best threat in the attack. Pulled off some saves from goalkeeper Tom Heaton while also playing some dangerous balls.
Dele Alli 6 – Had a quiet match, but he played a fine ball to set-up Son for the second goal and ensured his team took home the three points.
Vincent Janssen 5 – Struggled upfront. Seemed to be isolated up the field with the majority of his touches coming a long way off goal.
SUBS:
Mousa Dembele (For Wanama 43 minutes) – 6 – Settled the midfield as always.
Moussa Sissoko (For Winks 47 minutes) – 3 – An abysmal display from the 27-year-old who came off the bench.
Son Heung-min (For Janssen 73 minutes) – 8 – Scored a fine goal moments after coming onto the pitch.
