Tottenham reap Giovani Lo Celso dividends as ‘top dollar’ summer exit now likely – punditt

Tottenham are in a win-win situation with Giovani Lo Celso as he could now leave the club for “top dollar” this summer.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 25-year-old’s future.

Lo Celso won the player of the match award as Villarreal beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday (6 April).

The midfielder has made 11 appearances since joining the Spanish side on loan in January.

Kenny now claims Lo Celso could return to Tottenham a rejuvenated player, or he could leave the club for an inflated fee.

“If he does come back, they have a player who is all of a sudden turning in good performances at a high level,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He looks to have some confidence and that is a big thing in football, so maybe he could go back to Spurs and do something.

“If they don’t want to keep him though, if he doesn’t fit in with what Conte wants to do, they can sell him.

“The brilliant thing is that they can sell him for more now than they probably would have in January because of his good performances.

“He could leave for top dollar now. It’s a win-win for Spurs if you ask me.”

Lo Celso made 19 appearances for Tottenham in the first half of this season.

He scored one goal and assisted twice but failed to complete a 90-minute match in the Premier League.
