£100,000-a-week Tottenham star high on shortlist of La Liga giants – report

Tottenham star Hugo Lloris is high on the shortlist of Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to a report.
The Telegraph has claimed that the La Liga side have identified the 30-year-old as an alternative target if they are unable to sign Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois.
It is stated that Zinedine Zidane’s team are looking for a world-class goalkeeper when their transfer ban ends at the end of the season.
This has led to the report sharing that Lloris is ranked highly on the goalkeeper list alongside Manchester United and long-term Madrid target David de Gea.
Lloris only signed a new contract in December which takes him up until 2022 with Tottenham.
However, it is believed that this will not put Madrid off from enquiring for the Frenchman if they are unable to sign Courtois.
It is also stated that Real Madrid would be prepared to double his current £100,000-a-week wage to take him to the Spanish capital.
Lloris is a key part of the Tottenham side after joining from Lyon for £8.6million in 2012, playing 195 times in total for the club.
However, Madrid is hard for any player to turn down and he could be enticed by a move to work with his country’s legend in Zidane.

Many would think that Real Madrid would have the same luck in signing Lloris as they do in bringing Courtois to the club. However, it must not be forgotten that in his career Lloris left his hometown in Nice to progress with Lyon before moving on once again to Tottenham. Loyalty is very rare to find in football in 2017 and as experienced with both Gareth Bale and Luka Modric when Real Madrid come calling there’s not a lot they can do but get the best price. It is now a must that Tottenham qualify for the Champions League next season in order to keep the likes of Lloris, otherwise many will be heading for the exit doors.
