Sanchez deserves the axe

Lining up alongside Ben Davies and Toby Alderweireld, the summer signing was a weak link with a series of errors.
He was caught on the ball, beaten by pace and demonstrated a lack of positional awareness as Apoel were able to break through the defence several times.
Pochettino should be considering dropping the axe on Sanchez, with Jan Vertonghen available after missing out through suspension, although the manager’s tactical decisions could force his hand.
