Tottenham tipped to complete ‘massive signing’ after source’s Paratici reveal today on Dier replacement – pundit
Matthijs de Ligt would be a “massive signing” for Tottenham in January as Antonio Conte looks to bring in new faces, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 22-year-old Dutchman could be a potential replacement for Eric Dier.
This site exclusively revealed on Saturday (November 20th) that Tottenham have set their sights on signing Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt in January.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider today that recruitment chief Fabio Paratici plans to monitor De Ligt’s situation closely over the coming weeks.
The priority of Paratici and Conte is to sign at least one top-class centre-back in January.
Whelan insisted that Tottenham will make “big” movements in the winter window if they believe Champions League qualification is possible.
“He’d be a massive signing. I think we saw at the weekend that they need some new centre-halves at Tottenham,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“Romero is obviously out injured which is a massive blow for them, he’s their best defender.
“Conte is coming into the club from Italy, he knows who he wants, knows his top targets and he’s going to want to bring in some of his own players – there’s no secret about that.
“Some competition for places in that defensive role can only be a good thing. Dier has always been a bit of a weak link, hit-and-miss in that position – he’s more of a midfielder.

“I’m sure there will be big movement in January for Tottenham, especially if they’re not far off those Champions League places.”
Paratici signed De Ligt for Juventus in 2019 for a reported initial fee of £67.5million.
In other news, a pundit has told Tottenham fans they are “wrong” amid the latest on Harry Kane.
