Tottenham told to accept cut-price Tanguy Ndombele offer after source’s reveal – Robinson

Paul Robinson has told Tottenham to “cut their losses” with Tanguy Ndombele even if it means taken a financial hit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one the 25-year-old’s permanent exit is “best for the club in the long-term.”

Ndombele is currently on a season-long loan at Napoli.

The centre-midfielder has been a regular feature for Luciano Spalletti’s side from the bench.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this month (14 November) that there is a £30million buy option in Napoli’s loan deal which would be triggered if the Italian giants qualify for the Champions League.

The ex-Lyon star’s contract with Spurs runs until the end of June 2025.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “It is a case of cutting your losses.

“You do not want him in and around the dressing room, especially if he is not going to be playing regularly. The manager quite clearly doesn’t fancy him.

“Sadly, Ndombele has never reached the level we expected. He has only had fits and starts. His attitude hasn’t been right.

“It is one of those where you cut your losses and forget about it. They were never going to get anywhere near what they paid for him. If you get half of that you take it. That is what is best for the club in the long-term.”
