Bayern Munich and PSG are two of five European clubs to have enquired about signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, sources have told Football Insider

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed he expects the Toffees to sell Onana once the transfer window reopens to help balance the books.

O’Rourke admitted the Belgium international is the most likely candidate to leave Goodison Park, with Bayern and PSG ready to make a move to sign him.

The 22-year-old is under contract with the Toffees until 2027.

Amadou Onana could leave Everton as clubs race to sign him

Onana enjoyed a strong first season at Everton after joining the club in a £33million deal from French side Lille in 2022.

But he hasn’t really kicked on this year after being dropped from the starting lineup in four of the Toffees’ final six games of the campaign.

The Belgian has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison in recent months as the club look to get on top of their financial situation.

O’Rourke suggested only one big player sale may be necessary this summer as Everton are desperate to ensure they don’t commit any further profit and sustainability (PSR) breaches.

Everton

The 21-year-old has received interest from several top clubs, but Football Insider revealed on 27 May that Everton have opened up talks with the defender about him remaining on Merseyside next season.
