Unai Emery cited as West Ham told to complete January signing – pundit
West Ham should stick with David Moyes but they may have missed a trick in not appointing Unai Emery before he went to Aston Villa.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Moyes is under pressure after the Hammers’ most recent loss, a 2-0 home defeat against Leicester City on Saturday (12 November).
The Irons have now lost three league games on the bounce, leaving them in 16th and just one point above the relegation zone.
Wenham claims West Ham fans may be wanting a change in the dugout after watching Emery win his first two league games as Villa boss.
“Another home defeat and another game without scoring,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I don’t think these European wins against minnows have covered up the job Moyes is doing. I know the West Ham natives are not happy.
“They are on their podcasts and talk shows moaning a whinging. I think they have seen Villa’s revival under Emery and how they went out and got a manager of his ability through the door.
“If you look at how Emery has turned Villa around, those West Ham fans will be thinking ‘why didn’t we get him?’.
“That being said, for me, Moyes does deserve time to turn it around. It is early in the season and I’m sure if there is business in January then they will be fine.”

West Ham face Fulham in their next Premier League game on 17 December.
They have only won four of the 15
