Walk into any Premier League team – Pat Nevin Celtic transfer claim leaves BBC studio speechless

Pat Nevin has claimed that Kieran Tierney is a better left-back than Andrew Robertson and that Man United would be getting themselves a “seriously top player” if they move for him this summer.

A report in the Star has claimed that the remarks made by former Scotland international Nevin, including the fact that Tierney could walk into any Premier League team, left the BBC studio speechless.

Man United need a new left-back in a serious overhaul in the summer.

It’s been a problem position for them all season, despite the resurgence of Ashley Young.

Andrew Robertson made the move form Hull to Liverpool last summer and, after a quiet start, has been wowing Anfield for the second half of the season.

However, Nevin thinks that Tierney is even better and that Mourinho should make him a top summer target.

“At the moment, one of the best left backs around, I think we’ll all agree, is Andrew Robertson,” Nevin said in the BBC Radio 5 Live studio.

“He’s playing at Liverpool now with a Champions League final [looming] and he’s had an absolutely stunning season.

“But he’s the second best left back in Scotland.

“Manchester United might think about looking up and trying to get the best left back in Scotland.

“Celtic fans won’t thank me for it but there is a better one up there and he would walk into any Premier League team. And it’s Kieran Tierney.”
