West Ham backed to sign £25m Declan Rice replacement after source’s reveal – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed West Ham to move for Scott McTominay this summer as they prepare to receive a big-money fee for Declan Rice.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Irons will never be able to replace Rice “like-for-like” so must be “clever” with how they spend the funds.
Sources told this site on Monday (20 February) that West Ham could move for McTominay in the summer as Man United prepare to listen to offers.

The Red Devils are confident of receiving £25million for the Scotland international in the off-season.
Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are among the sides ready to do battle for West Ham captain Rice at the end of the season – with the England star widely expected to exit as he has just 12 months left on his contract.
Meanwhile, McTominay has been relegated to a bit-part role at Old Trafford following the summer arrival of Casemiro.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think he’d be a great player to add to that West Ham squad.
“McTominay will probably know that his Man United days are over. He’s 26 now, he’s entering the prime of his career – he’s got to be playing regularly.
“West Ham are never going to be able to replace Declan Rice like-for-like. That’s why he’s a £100million player.

“They’ve got to be smart with how they spend that money. McTominay has proven himself to be a solid Premier League player.
“I think he’d be a good signing but if they can go out and use the Rice money in other positions, then they could do something even better.”
