West Ham fans all make the same prediction as extent of Crysencio Summerville blow revealed

West Ham United supporters are trying to remain optimistic despite a potentially devastating blow to Crysencio Summerville.

The 24-year-old has been a shining light for the Hammers, notching seven goals and two assists in 27 appearances this season, including a five-game run of scoring.

However, against Brentford in the FA Cup on Monday, 9 March, Summerville picked up what many assumed could be a season-ending injury, with the truth now coming out about the talented winger.

Nuno Espirito Santo has done well to avoid injuries this season, and it now turns out that the player’s scans have revealed a “minor” calf injury, which could see him sidelined for only a few games.

West Ham fans have ‘fingers crossed’ for the best-case scenario

Supporters are crossing their fingers ahead of a season-defining run-in of Premier League fixtures, with the Hammers yet to face Wolves, Crystal Palace and Leeds United, all of which could help claim survival.

Nuno’s side currently sit inside the relegation zone on goal difference. And with games against Man City and Aston Villa up next, very few are positive about getting anything out of them.

The majority of supporters learning of the Summerville news have predicted him to only miss those two games, hoping for a return against Leeds in the FA Cup or the home league game against Wolves.

How could Nuno Espirito Santo line up without Crysencio Summerville?

There is no sugarcoating how difficult it will be without Summerville on the left flank, especially with Jarrod Bowen far from his best form at the London Stadium in recent weeks.

Against the Bees, Adama Traore was given a chance to impress on the left wing, and supporters did have some positive things to say about the Spaniard, having also won a penalty in the first half.

However, he was hooked for Summerville at the half-time break, despite his good performance, so starting him again is always an option, but not Nuno’s only choice.

Keiber Lamadrid could be handed his Premier League debut after featuring against Burton Albion in the FA Cup, or, for more experience, El Hadji Malick Diouf could be pushed further forward.

The manager has a difficult decision to make, especially against the likes of Man City and Villa, but Summerville will be back to full fitness before the really important games, hopefully.
