West Ham fans react on Twitter to reported new contract for senior man

West Ham are reportedly ready to offer Slaven Bilic a new contract if he can guide them to a top eight finish this season – and fans on Twitter are still behind their man.

The Sun claim that Bilic was close to being axed before Christmas after a shocking run of results but he will be offered a fresh contract should they have a good end to the season.

The 48-year-old took charge of the club during the summer of 2015 and guided them to a top seven finish in his debut campaign.

However, since the Hammers moved from Upton Park to the London Stadium last summer, results have been hard to come by and they have struggled for the majority of this season.

They are currently ninth in the Premier League table, largely thanks to their form in recent weeks which has seen them pick up nine points in their last four games.

Some fans on Twitter stated that they liked Bilic and would like him to stay at the club with 18 months remaining on his contract.

But another supporter believes that with speculation about Roberto Manchini swirling around, Bilic’s time could be up in the summer.

The Irons are five points adrift of eighth-placed West Brom after they won their last league fixture at Southampton 3-1.

One fan believes if Bilic is to get a new deal then the board should provide him with the tools in order to succeed.
