West Ham fans react to Jordan Hugill display in 3-1 win v Dagenham
Jordan Hugill scored his first goal for West Ham last night – albeit in a friendly against lower league opposition – and fans have given a mixed reaction to his display on Twitter.
The strong West Ham XI beat Dagenham & Redbridge 3-1 at the Chigwell Construction Stadium in front of a crowd close to 5,000.
Hugill, the striker who joined West Ham in January from Preston for £9million, has been restricted to two cameo appearances totalling just 12 minutes, and has been an unused sub for the last three Premier League games.
It’s an inauspicious start for the 25-year-old who had scored eight in 27 Championship games for Preston at the start of the season.
And, given West Ham’s current struggles, it doesn’t bode well for his future.
He did score a good goal last night, West Ham’s third, and some fans think he should be given a chance by Moyes in the Premier League.
However, the overwhelming reaction is that he wasn’t good enough, with one fan saying that he’d found his level against the Conference side.
Here are the best reactions to his display in the friendly on Wednesday night:
