Medical expert: West Ham fear Jarrod Bowen may have ‘underlying’ issue as new return date revealed
West Ham will fear that Jarrod Bowen has an underlying issue that they have been unable to detect when he has been sent for scans.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Bowen, 25, has missed the Hammers’ last four games across all competitions with an unidentified heel injury.

The attacker, who missed out on the England squad because of his setback, has been sent for scans to determine the extent of the issue.
David Moyes has now revealed that Bowen is likely to return shortly “after the international break”, per club media last Wednesday (16 March).
But Dinnery explained that, while the party line is that he will return in April, the Irons may fear Bowen has a more insidious issue.
“It’s highly likely that Bowen has been for imaging on more than one occasion,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“He was in a lot of discomfort and unable to weight-bear. But the imaging results have so far said that it doesn’t look like anything sinister.
“David Moyes has referenced that disparity between what Bowen himself is experiencing and what we have seen visually.
“The worry is that there is something underlying that they are missing. Those tests and assessments will continue to try and get to the bottom of it.
“But hopefully that swelling and pain will subside and he can step up his recovery ahead of game week 31.”

Bowen is West Ham’s top scorer and creator this term with 12 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
Moyes’ side 7th-place side face Everton in their first match after the international break on 3 April.
