West Ham skipper Mark Noble has stated he wants to end his career with the east London club.

The 29-year-old is currently West Ham’s longest-serving player, having represented the club at senior level since coming through the academy ranks in 2004.

Noble is just six games shy of making his 400th appearance for the club, but he still has a long way to go before he can sit in the company of the likes of Sir Trevor Brooking and Bobby Moore.

However, the midfielder is keen to make a decent go of it, after declaring his intention to remain at West Ham for the remainder of his career – a decision that will no doubt delight fans give his loyal service to their cause.

His current deal runs until 2020, but Noble has already set his sights on an even bigger future with his boyhood club.

He told the club’s official website: “To me, looking at myself at the age of nearly 30, I’ve still got a contract until I’m 33 and thinking about playing for another football club would be funny.

“I would like to finish my career here, that’s what I’ve always thought. I can’t see myself playing for another football team, but football is such a changing world so you can’t ever tell what’s going to happen next season.

“Walking around the place, I know all the coaches at Under-7, Under-8 and Under-9 level, sometimes I go and watch the youngsters train and I feel like I’ve been there and done it myself, coming up through the ranks with the club.”

Noble remains a firm fan favourite around the Olympic Stadium this season, with fans having called for the midfielder to gain international recognition for his impressive performances.

He has been capped from U16 through to U21 level for England, but has yet to make the step up to the senior side.

His chance could still come though, as long as he keeps working hard for West Ham. He currently has five goals and two assists for the club this term.
