West Ham taking ‘big gamble’ after source’s David Moyes reveal – pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed sticking with David Moyes is a “big gamble” for West Ham.

But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender insisted Moyes can be the man to get them out of their current predicament.

Sources told Football Insider today (22 February) that the Hammers have reached out to Rafael Benitez and he is a leading contender to replace Moyes.

According to The Times (20 February), the Scotsman’s job is under new threat and he could be sacked if they lose to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (25 February).

The Irons are actively assessing potential replacements for the 59-year-old after he came close to being sacked earlier this year.

When asked if West Ham should stick with Moyes until the end of the season, Hutton told Football Insider:I would like to see it happen.

I think clubs nowadays are very quick to make a change and I understand why. At the end of the day it is a business, they ned to stay up in this league for financial reasons.

David Moyes has done it before, he has got them out of this situation so I do not see why he can’t do it now.

I would stick with him until the end of the season. I know for the hierarchy that might be a big gamble because they might drop out of the league but I think they have got enough.

I think there is worse in there and I think they have got the players that can get them out of it and the manager.

In other news, according to sources, West Ham are plotting to sign Scott McTominay after ‘£25m’ reveal.
